Please read this carefully before attending your Makeover Photo Session.
This information will help you prepare for your photo shoot, and contains helpful advice about hairstyles, clothes and accessories

Anyone who has experienced a portrait sitting at our studio will know just how much time, effort and skill Jayne and Chris put in to creating the beautiful portraits for which they are renowned.

These notes have been prepared to help you get the most out of your session. Take a little time to read them, and give some thought to the style and type of image you would like us to achieve for you.

    Clothes and Props

The studio has a selection of tops and wraps to create a wide range of glamorous ‘evening’ styles. You may if you wish bring your own favourite outfits too.
Jayne will help create whatever image you desire - from designer labels to casuals, from smart suits to swimsuits, from lingerie to leather jackets. The choice is yours.
You are welcome to bring a few pictures torn from magazines to indicate any specific ideas you have in mind.
Do bring a pair of jeans or leggings to wear during the photo shoot together with the strapless modesty top which we provide for use with the wraps. And if available, a strapless bra (wonderbra or otherwise) to wear under our off-the-shoulder evening dress tops.

Mature ladies and girls under fifteen: We recommend that these clients bring a wider selection of their own clothes as some of our looks and styles may not appeal to the very young or the more mature client.

    Beauty Tips

Most of your shots will be head and shoulders, but as hands can often be featured too, it is preferable that your nails (real or false) are clean and well shaped. If you usually wear nail polish please ensure it is not chipped. A natural polish or French Manicure is best, as strong colours may clash with some of the many fabrics we utilize during the photo shoot. (See our Guide to Beauty Salons)

    Make-up

Photographic make-up is much heavier than normal - even for that `natural' look. Please arrive wearing little or no makeup as problems can arise when reapplying fresh cosmetics after removing yours. If you usually shape your eyebrows, please do so a day or two before your appointment. It is well worth considering having this done professionally. The few pounds spent will make a tremendous difference. And if you colour your hair, please make sure it is freshly done, not more than ten days prior to your appointment.

    Hair Styles

Before arriving, wash and style your hair just as you would before going on an evening out. This will give us an indication of your usual style and how you would like to look in your portraits. We will adjust it for the camera, and during the course of the photo session it can be combed, brushed, and otherwise coaxed into any alternative styles you would like to try.
Clients who are particularly specific about their hairstyle may find it beneficial to visit their usual salon prior to their appointment at the studio.
We do not cut hair, and our water-based sprays brush out easily - so you can go home looking no different to when you arrived!

    Posing

And finally: don't worry about not being able to pose. Drawing upon a wealth of experience gained working with professional models, Jayne and Chris will coax and encourage you into exactly the right angles to bring out your most photogenic features.
